The Orientation of an NFC Tag to an NFC Reader Effects Performance
The orientation of an NFC tag to an NFC reader is important. The NFC tag's antenna must be in a parallel plane to the NFC reader's antenna. If it is in a perpendicular plane the NFC tag generally will not be read. Following from this, if either of the antennas are curved (most likely the NFC tag's antenna) it will reduce the effectiveness of the antenna.
