Rohan Yadav, a third-year computer science Ph.D. student at Stanford University, is generally interested in programming languages and computer systems, with a focus in systems for parallel and distributed computing. In his presentation “Legate Sparse: Distributed and Accelerated Sparse Computing in Python,” he will introduce Legate Sparse, a system that transparently distributes sparse matrix-based SciPy programs across clusters of CPUs and GPUs. He will discuss the design of Legate Sparse and show its performance on up to 192 GPUs of the Summit supercomputer.
