This grown folks raps. Hes cooking up something dope while still sprinkling in his wordplay, some flexing but on a proud tip and just explaining things about how he grew up that people dont focus on if your area was considered “bad” or you were considered “troubled”. Theres always a cause and effect and hes diving into that in small batches. The hook is solid too, and it all fits over this very smooth ass beat. The ending hits hard because hood hero, uplifting, grounded story or not, we know how most end. Throw this bad boy on a few times.
