How to Write Auto-Updating FIELD Assigned Text
This is the latest in the series of recently uploaded advanced tools videos to enhance productivity.
The 'FIELD' command in the video has quite wider application but here I have touched upon frequently used applications of it.
Assigning 'Field' is a method of linking certain object property to a text object, which dynamically changes with change in value of linked object properties.
Firstly the room or spaces sizes have been assigned a field to make them automatically update.
Secondly, the areas of a space has been assigned a field.
Thirdly, labeling the blocks, objects & buildings with dynamically updating position and rotation field.
These fields can be assigned in any unit or multiple units. Two reference files with different field options can be downloaded from the links.
These objects and accompanied fields can be inserted into the drawing and edited to suit your requirement.
These can also be referred to understand and find out the conversion factors of different units.
It is a very time saving and useful command. I hope it helps in enhancing your productivity and arms you
with an additional activated tool in your arsenal of CAD commands.
