In this content I will introduce to you the fruit abandunt here in my hometown and its uses. Mangrove apple tree is a type of mangrove growing up to 20 m in height and with a trunk reaching a maximum diameter of 50 cm. It is present in tropical tidal mudflats of Bangkung Malapad and in the whole Sasmuan Pampanga Coastal Wetland.

The fruit is noted for its outward similarity to the persimmon fruit.The leaves and the fruit are edible and appreciated as food in the coastal community. The fruit is known as Palapat, the pulp of the fruit is use as sour base ingredients for soup recipes, some use as sauce for fried fish and seafoods. The fruit can also preserved by pickling and puree used for jam and candies.
