I often get told by certain music makers that using sample packs, loops, or even anything tech forward in music production is considered "cheating". But I always asked... "Why?". Music creation is something I value and hold very dear to me as a means of expression which anyone who wants to do should be able to do. When you collaborate with a keyboard player because you can't play keys, it doesn't make you a "fake musician". It makes you someone who knows how to put together a great song. AKA: A PRODUCER. Enter: Serato Studio. A fresh new DAW that makes making industry-standard beats easy for anyone at any level. I have been producing for the latter part of 24 total years. A classically trained vocalist and the lead church organist since the age of 7 years old. I can play 4 instruments and even someone of my level LOVES what I can do (and how easy I can do it) in Serato Studio. So here, I decided to demonstrate how I go about creating a beat with Serato, what features I used, how long it took, and even a song I wrote as a direct result of the instrumental inspiring me then and there. This was totally unplanned. My idea for this video originally was meant to be much more scripted and mechanical but it came out very very well.
