Some researchers say that the average goldfish has a longer attention span than humans:
Goldfish
The average goldfish can focus on a task for nine seconds.
Humans
The average human attention span is eight seconds.
The idea that humans have shorter attention spans than goldfish is based on a Microsoft report that claims the average human attention span has decreased from 12 seconds in 2000 to eight seconds today. However, some say that this claim is inaccurate and that there is no evidence that human attention spans are shrinking. With all being said about this scenario, my concern is why humans are so frustrated and quick to turn away from hearing knowledge and wisdom. Please feel free to share what you think of this scenario:
1. No evidence: There is no evidence that human attention spans are shrinking.
2.Task-dependent: The amount of attention we pay to a task depends on the task demand.
3. Shaky evidence: The claim is based on evidence that is at best shaky, and at worst completely fabricated.
3. Fake news: The claim that humans have goldfish-level attention spans is fake.
