7 Days to Die Alpha 20 brings a load of new features and functions, but there is a looming question of performance. During the dev streams we heard hints that performance would be similar to Alpha 19, but we didn't get to see much in terms of CPU/GPU/RAM usage or overall FPS on different types of hardware.
In this video I'll leverage MSI Afterburner to run benchmark testing on a mid level and high level PC in 3 different zones on the map which I have defined as:
• Suburbs - The areas just outside of the cities that have moderate density and tend to be less vertically dense.
• City - This is the meat of the cities that has a blend of vertical and horizontal density.
• Tower - This is the areas around Dishong or Higashi tower. This is typically the most dense areas of the map.
As mentioned in the video - I'm not a benchmark engineer, but I do think this provides solid insight into A20 Experimental performance.
