Welcome back to the Max Payne! This game has me feeling so many mixed emotions ahhhhh 🙃 Let's start with the obvious... I am not the best when it comes to shooters and clearly need more experience with these types of games. With that being said I really enjoyed the challenge of each level and felt like I got better as we went along. Despite the variety in levels, enemies, and story beats, I still felt like the main campaign dragged at times. There was plenty to warrant a replay with the collectables and golden guns so that was great to see. The story was non stop action, shock, and awe which made me overall enjoy the experience. Being a Max Payne title is where I instantly felt the disconnect. What happened to "I had a dream of my wife. She was dead. But it was all right"? Perhaps I put too much stock in Max's acceptance of events at the end of the second title, but seeing him regress was painful. It ultimately made me feel like any character development had been lost. In summary, I really enjoyed the gameplay and am glad I got to experience this title to form my own opinion, but didn't connect with it the same way I did with the first two. Thanks for recommending it and taking time to watch it 💛
