Presentation: It is generally accepted that war is an atrocity, a form of conflict resolution so violent that it should not be used. And yet, do we not also recognize that in certain circumstances, it is necessary and even just to take up arms? This would be particularly the case for freedom, when it must be defended or recovered. We will therefore wonder: does freedom have such a value for us that we can, in its name, justify the war that is usually condemned so strongly?
