The Strong Assessment uses themes referred to as the RIASEC model, which stands for:
R - Realistic (Doers): People with a primary Realistic theme prefer working with tools, machines, and objects. They enjoy physical activity and often like to work outdoors. They're typically hands-on and practical.
Ideal Roles: Mechanic, Farmer, Carpenter, Electrician, Engineer, Surgeon, Chef.
I - Investigative (Thinkers): Individuals with this theme like to analyze, research, and understand phenomena. They're usually very curious and like to solve complex problems.
Ideal Roles: Scientist, Researcher, Mathematician, Programmer, Doctor.
A - Artistic (Creators): Artistic people are usually innovative and prefer unstructured, free environments where they can use their creativity. They appreciate aesthetics and have a strong need for self-expression.
Ideal Roles: Artist, Writer, Musician, Designer, Actor.
S - Social (Helpers): Those with a primary Social theme enjoy working with people. They're helpers, trainers, and educators. They're typically empathetic and enjoy collaborating.
Ideal Roles: Teacher, Counselor, Nurse, Social Worker, Coach.
E - Enterprising (Persuaders): Enterprising individuals are often leaders and like to influence, persuade, and manage for organizational goals or economic gain.
Ideal Roles: Salesperson, Manager, Entrepreneur, Real Estate Agent, Lawyer.
C - Conventional (Organizers): People with this theme are detail-oriented and enjoy structured, systematic environments. They like working with data, files, and systems.
Ideal Roles: Accountant, Banker, Editor, Office Manager, Librarian.
