1-day winter hike in the Alps: Bavarian Prealps. Part 2. Heimgarten - ridge - Herzogstand (RU)
My first hike in the Alps - a winter fairy tale. January 2021.
Route: Ohlstadt - Heimgarten (1791) - ridge (arête?) - Herzogstand (1731) - ridge backwards - Kaseralm - Ohlstadt.
Distance: about 14 km, total elevation: 1400 m
Part 2. Finishing the ascent to Heimgarten peak, where a nice talkative bird (Alpine chough) meets me. Еnjoying the view of the winter Alps, the Walchensee lake, and the ridge to be traversed. The trek along the ridge connecting the Heimgarten and Herzogstand peaks is undoubtedly the highlight!
