After a year and a half, 19k attempts and 2 end deaths (surprisingly) I did what I thought I would have never done in this game. I cannot describe how happy I feel to have this finished.
I started this in February 2020 when this level was #73 on the list. I tried jumping from Cataclysm at the time but ended up dying at 78% in late 2020 and never made any more significant progress since. I came back to the level after gaining some motivation in July 2021 and after finding some friends to actively talk to. The level was also #148 on the list so I had another incentive to beat it.
This was the best time I could have beaten it too as I was the most consistent I have ever been. I got 79%, 87% & 89% as my worst fails. It got to the point where I wasn't nervous when getting far and was just waiting for that lucky attempt to happen, hence my very surprised reaction.
the 2nd half has got to be some of the most inconsistent gameplay you would find in an extreme. 49, 63, 69, 77 & 89 were all major choke points and you would feel as if you would never beat it. This made my liking for the level decrease extremely fast. Decoration-wise this level really holds up for 2.0 with the great use of block design for its time and the background decoration at 49+ makes for a really good atmosphere.
This is also very special to me because this is the Hardest extreme I hacked on my old YouTube channel (PlayerRabbit)
I used the 240hz ver by xeonzz with 350fps bypass, my reasoning is that the last mini cube's jump pad is 360fps bugged and you would hit the saw 50% of the time, you could avoid it by jumping over the pad but it makes it more inconsistent. I didn't want to make a bugfix nor play at a lower refresh so I tested 350fps and it always avoided the bug. You can try it yourself if you are suspicious about it.
As I said at the end of the video, I want to dedicate this completion to many friends of mine who have been a part of this journey with me, no matter how little they supported me, I still extremely appreciate whoever gave me even the slightest bit motivation to finish it off. It really helped me feel like it was near the end. Thank you.
