SP404 mk2 - Powering the SP404 mk2 With USB-C Alone
A viewer wrote in to say that you cannot power the SP404 mk2 with USB-C provided power, and I just wanted to show that it is possible, though it does require the device to provide enough power. The spec I believe calls for 1.5ma of power, which not all devices can do. Clearly the iPad is able to provide enough power, but not even the powered USB C hub that I am using is able to provide enough power.
So, I can understand that not all USB-C cables and power supplies are made equal, and it may not always work, but with the right gear it certainly does.
