How can you tell if a surge protection device has failed?
Surge protection devices are now commonplace within electrical installations. But how can you tell easily if they are connected and working? In this video, we build a remote SPD indicator which connects to the auxiliary volt free contacts found on most three-phase surge protection devices.
Without this simple SPD indicator users are reliant upon someone checking the tiny indicator flags on the surge protectors.
We build this simple remote indicator using a Contactum three phase distribution board with surge protection and metering extension box.
