Friday Night Funkin' is a Newgrounds rhythm game made using HaxeFlixel and originally created for Ludum Dare 47 by ninjamuffin99, PhantomArcade, Kawai Sprite and evilsk8r. Currently developed by The Funkin' Crew, the game can be played via Newgrounds or downloaded for free on desktop on itch.io, or on mobile devices on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
The game is an ongoing project that will continue to receive updates, bug fixes and new content, with the full version of the game currently in development after being successfully funded via a Kickstarter campaign. The game is also open-source, allowing users to mod it or simply look through its code, which can be freely downloaded on GitHub.
The plot of the game centers around Boyfriend trying to hook up with Girlfriend, but her ex-rockstar father, Daddy Dearest, and her popstar mother, Mommy Mearest, don't approve of him. Mario's Madness is a mod directed by Marco Antonio. The mod is centered around Super Horror Mario, a demonic version of the original Mario, from the rather well-known artwork by Shadow-Shana on Deviantart. Vs. Sonic.exe is based on the famous creepypasta "Sonic.exe". Girlfriend and Boyfriend meet in another video game, in which Sonic.EXE has just finished off Tails. Boyfriend, acting on instinct, challenges Sonic.EXE to a rap battle, and along the way encounters some other famous Sonic creepypastas such as "Majin Sonic", "Lord X", "Sanic.exe", etc. (got this from FNF fandom wiki)
