Basic Licensed Court Interpreters in Texas
This presentation is for holders of the licensed court interpreter credential at the basic level, issued by the Texas Office of Court Administration, Judiciation Branch Certification Commission. The presenter is Marco Hanson, a master licensed court interpreter in Texas and a federally certified court interpreter for the Spanish language. (The video does not cover the process for ASL or other signed languages, which are administered by a different agency and subject to different laws.) Marco explains what you can do with your new basic license, why you may not have passed at the master level, and to bring up your score on the next oral exam. The important thing to remember is that you're almost there, and pushing through to the finish line is well worth the effort! Taking the oral exam again may cost $300, but you can earn that back before lunch your first day in court.
