How To Change Youtube Theme In 1 MIN
In this video, I show you how to enable YouTube's secret dark mode without using plugins or third-party software. Checked the pinned comment for safari & other instructions.
-- Written Instructions--
1. Ensure you have the most recent version of Google Chrome (version 57 onwards)
2. Open the developer window by using:
Ctrl + Shift + I on Windows
Option + Command + I on Mac
or F12 on either device.
3. Select the “console” tab
4. Copy + Paste in the following text (including the quote marks):
document.cookie="VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE=fPQ4jCL6EiE"
Then press enter
5. Close the developer window, refresh the page, and the dark mode toggle is available in the main settings menu in the top right.
If you want to set this change for last an entire year you can do so by following entering the commands listed in the pinned comment instead of those above.
What this actually does is set the cookie saved on your PC to be set for a year. If you don't do this then the "getFullYear" Dark Mode will be available until you relaunch the browser again. However, do be aware that if you clear your browser's cookies at any stage in that year then you'll wipe out the configuration you put above.

Same instructions as Google Chrome but a semi-colon needs to be added at the end of the code line.
