1937 USS Panay Incident | A Pearl Harbor Preview
In December of 1937, The Empire of Japan attacked and sunk the USS Panay in the Yangtze River of China during the Second Sino-Japanese War. The attack occurred four years before Pearl Harbor and served as a prelude to that attack which would draw the United States into World War II.
