Making a Custom Twitch Chat Bot
New to the stream? Make sure to follow these rules for chat:
1) *Respect others in chat.* Do you have to like everybody? No. But show respect, and don't be a dick.
2) *No backseating.* Period. This means that you do NOT tell me where to go and what to do in games, whether it's a blind playthrough or not. (Vague hints are acceptable, but the key word here is vague.)
You might think you're being helpful, but, especially on a blind playthrough, it's way more irritating than helpful. If I'm ever stuck at any point in a game, I'll accept hints, but only after I directly address chat with a question. Otherwise, assume I'm thinking out loud.
3) *Do not advertise or self-promote.* So you have a channel, too. Cool. Would you want someone coming to your channel advertising their own, though? No? Then don't do it to others.
4) *Do not post spoilers.* This one's a no-brainer. Unless it's a really old game (we'll say 5+ years old), don't post spoilers about it. Not even fake spoilers.
5) *Do not post NSFW, racist, antisemitic, or other similar types of content.* Again, self-explanatory. This isn't the place for that sort of thing.
Punishments for each rule are up to my or the moderators' discretion. Generally, forgoing extreme circumstances, bans will not be issued, in favor of time-outs.
