In this talk Penelope discusses layers of abstraction, intel CPUs, and how the Ruby VM does what it does. We take a quick look through many different layers involved in executing Ruby code on your computer, and ultimately wind up understanding what the Ruby VM is for, and how it plays a part in running Ruby code.
