LOCOS at Longport FD with DRS CONVOY Shunted to release DEAD in Tow 66431
An interesting move at Longport FD on Monday 11th Sep-23 seeing DRS loco 66431 being delivered to the depot for repairs sandwiched between 66427 & 66428.
66431 was dead in Tow so required a loco either side of it to work from DRS Gresty Bridge depot in Crewe via platform 8 at Crewe station to Longport.
Once the shunt was completed - 66427 & 66428 left for Leeds Balm Road with a visit to the wheel lathe the likely reason for the visit.
In the Longport yard - 60014 sits awaiting it's fate either to be scrapped or salvaged with a donor powerplant and 66741 is put through its paces on the loadbank.
