If you have been using SOLIDWORKS for any period of time, you probably have inadvertently turned on the Selection Filter by accident. You know that because you will find a “blue funnel” next to your cursor. The purpose of this intuitive function is for you to be able to choose a component without having to stumble through multiple selections.
In this video TriMech Application Engineer, Dave Bazinet, demonstrates how to activate the Selection Filter display and the different options available. Additionally, Dave will reveal how to customize your filters by assigning them to hot-keys, or shortcuts, to the items you use most often use. This will give you an added level of efficiency when working on your project within SOLIDWORKS.
