On How I Met Your Mother, after making Tracy so awesome and so clearly right for Ted, the show totally misstepped by discarding her and turning her into just a "stepping stone" love interest. If HIMYM wanted us to forget Tracy so quickly, maybe it shouldn't have made her so loveable.
