Detecting odorants is easy enough, but how in the world does our brain distinguish so many different smells, especially when we're bombarded by many smells at once, all coming from distinct objects?

This is a lecture video for a university course in Sensation and Perception taught by Dr. Brian W. Stone. You may wish to play it at x1.25 speed.
