How to publish a video on youtube? And how to post first video on youtube?
Whether you upload HD/4K or 8k this YouTube upload process that I’m going to show you is exactly the same for all resolutions.
When you want to upload a video to YouTube, go to this create icon on the top right corner of your screen.
TITLE:
If you want to upload your youtube video and want to be found in YouTube search, make a title that people realistically typing into YouTube Search.
For example, for this video: How to upload a video to YouTube.
Technically, you have 100 characters, but use a maximum of 45, because otherwise you title will be cut off on YouTube Home and YouTube suggested.
You want to be punchy and to the point so viewers can understand immediately what a video is about.
DESCRIPTION:
In the video description is the part where you describe the contents of your video during the upload process of a youtube video.
It gives YouTube a better understanding what your video is about.
With video descriptions you have the part above the fold and the part below the fold.
The part above the fold is shown to the user on Desktop without clicking, and to see the rest below the fold they need to click “show more”
THUMBNAIL
A videos success is largely determined by the fact that you can get the click in the first place.
And what see viewers first? Your thumbnail.
So take the time to design a clickable thumbnail.
PAYLISTS
Assign playlists with videos that viewers can watch in consecutive order.
A lot of creators mistake them for a means of organizing content, but who is going to watch 100 videos in a row? Nobody.
AUDIENCE
If your video is targeted towards children, like cartoons or toys, you need to check: this video is for children.
SHOW MORE: sponsorships
if you received money for making this video, you need to disclose that
SHOW MORE: tags
Luckily we don’t have to worry about tags anymore, it is an old option.
Multiple studies, including my own, have shown that tags do absolutely nothing for the discovery of your video.
Simply because the algorithm analyzes your video on everything that is shown and said.
SHOW MORE: language
In order for the algorithm to understand what you say in the video and for the closed captions, you need to select the right language.
SHOW MORE: category
YouTube said multiple times that they don’t look at this anymore and let the algorithm decide the category, because most creators will out the category wrong.
NOW: DON’T publish the video on YouTube yet, there are some important steps that will gain you more views or have a 360p video.
Video elements tab: cards
Cards are those i-icon thingies in the right top corner of your sceen.
Avoid those, because they incentivize people to click over to other videos and leave your current YouTube video.

I recommend to have only one element here, studies have soon that when you give people to much choice, they won’t make a choice.
So make it really easy for viewers what you would recommend them to watch next.
VISIBILITY
A video has 3 states:
• public – all the videos you see on YouTube Home, Suggested and Search are public videos.
• Private – nobody can see your video, not even if you have the direct link to the video
• Unlisted – which is a hybrid between private and public. Nobody can see the video, unless they have the direct link to the video.
Then you can also Schedule a video, which is changes the state from Private to Public automatically on a set date.
