Inside Giga Berlin | How Makes Tesla Cars So Fast
Tesla Giga Berlin has officially opened. Tesla’s Berlin-Brandenburg Gigafactory opened in Germany on March 22, 2022.
Located in Brandenburg, Giga Berlin is Tesla’s first manufacturing location in Europe and the most advanced, sustainable, and efficient facility yet.
Giga Berlin will manufacture hundreds of thousands of Model Y vehicles and millions of 4860 battery cells.
Tesla stated that the main Model Y production line can manufacture one car body every 45 seconds this is possible with the help of 8 Giga press machines operating inside Giga Berlin. It is enough for hundreds of thousands of cars annually - up to 700,000 assuming 24/7 operation for around a year, and above 500,000 including some maintenance breaks.
Tesla aims at creating an automated factory where every single part of the vehicle is produced under the same roof.
Raw materials will enter from one end and a finished car will drive out the other end. As Elon Musk Says Giga Berlin is a machine that builds machines.
