edit libvirtd.conf
nano /etc/libvirt/libvirtd.conf
Note. If using unRAID as your hypervisor make sure you have nerd tools installed with netcat-openbsd enabled
This is how to use ssh with unRAID and virt manager.
We need libbsd and netcat-openbsd to be installed on unraid.
To get netcat-openbsd we can use the nerd tools pack which you can download through
community applications.
The libbds download the package from here https://www.dropbox.com/s/k1lqoxd1tb5...
Go to your flash drive and put this in the extra folder (create it if it doesn't exist)
Now when you reboot unraid will load libbsd each time the server is started
To use straight away ssh into the server and run
installpkg /boot/extra/libbsd.txz
Now you cant just setup the ssh from in virt manager connection. We have to do this from command line
like this
on your mac open terminal and run the following
virt-manager -c qemu+ssh://root@tower/system?socket=/var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock --no-fork
(please note the root@tower part replace that with name or IP of your server eg [email protected])
Once this has been run once virt manager will remember the connection.
