The Four Coins was a vocal harmony group formed in Canonsburg, PA, in 1952. Originally the four were horn players in an orchestra with Bobby Vinton, who was an unknown at the time. They left Vinton in 1953 and began performing on their own as The Four Keys. They changed their name to The Four Coins and their first single was "We'll Be Married (In The Church In The Wildwood)". Their recording of Memories Of You reached #22 on the Billboard charts in 1955. By 1959 they had released a total of seven Billboard charts hits. Their biggest hit, "Shangri-La", reached #11 in1957 on the US charts and earned a gold record.
