In this video, I'll explain how to make sure the RAM memory module you're about to buy is 100% compatible with your PC or Notebook / Laptop.
Even if a RAM upgrade is kind of the easiest upgrade you can do, there are a couple of things you need to look out for, in order to avoid any issues and get the maximum performance. This video aims to make your ram buying experience dead easy.

In short:
EASY WAY:
Find out your Motherboard/Notebook/Laptop model, and then search for it on good old Google. You are looking for the product page from that manufacturer. If you have an Asus motherboard you're looking for the Asus product page of your motherboard.
Once you get to it, on the support tab you will usually have a PDF or list of memory kits compatible.
Done! Now go shop for one of them.

And if you cannot find those exact models, you can always use the method below.

'HARDER' WAY:
1. Find out your installed RAM's specifications using CPU-Z, a free app that you can download here: https://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z...
2. Look for a RAM stick that matches with your installed one on the following specifications:
type (DDR4/3/2);
CL latency (15,16,17, etc.);
Voltage (1.2V, 1.35V etc);
Frequency ( 1600 MHz, 2400 MHz, 3000 MHz etc.);

3. Be aware of the Frequency: if you buy higher frequency RAM it will still work. If you have 2400MHz RAM, a new 3000MHz stick will work just fine. (the new stick will work at 2400MHz)
4. Be aware of Latency: if you buy RAM with tighter latency than what you have it will work just fine. If you have CL 16 RAM, and buy CL 15 RAM, it will be just fine. Just note that this does not work the other way around, as lower latency is better for performance.
Example of incompatible memory scenario: you have CL 15 2400MHz RAM installed and are buying CL 17 2400MHz RAM. Your new module will probably not be able to run at CL15 (faster than stock for its model) at that speed. Avoid this!
