Hi all, Today i show you how to use FFMPEG to Convert MP4 Video files across to GIF files. This method involves creating and using a batch file to work.

I use this method to turn videos into GIF so i can upload to Reddit as some subreddit's do not allow Links or videos.

NOTE: My explanation about the conversion is in layman's terms (Not 100% Accurate) if you wish to learn more about what a GIF is please see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GIF
Also to note my comment about Quality on this GIF image is to do with resolution reduction effecting the quality. adjusting the resolution of the original MP4 video file prior to converting is another option.

Batch File Code:

ffmpeg -i video.mp4 -vf scale=800:-1 -r 5 my_gif.gif
