95 percent of you probably played the SpongeBob games made by AWE Games exclusively for PC back then. But did you know that in the early 2000s, kids in the West were playing completely different SpongeBob games from Heavy Iron Studios? Why specifically kids in the West? Well, because in the early 2000s, everyone in the CIS was just playing the damn PS1. And I better not remind you about SpongeBob: SuperSponge. The SpongeBob console games were radically different from the PC versions and were larger in scope, though I'm only talking about the Heavy Iron Studios lineup here, as their SpongeBob games are considered the most premium of all time. It's these games that I'll be discussing today. They were made in a genre that, in my opinion, is quite uncharacteristic for SpongeBob—action-adventure. What was the end result? Cool stuff? Not really.
