Cell Phone Walking Lane in Washington, DC
Cell phone users, there's a lane just for you! A new TV show and its crew are experimenting with a cellphone lane in Washington, DC.
The folks behind a new National Geographic TV shows called 'Mind Over Masses' drew the lane on the sidewalk. The idea was to give users a safe way to walk and talk, or text. But to the creators' surprise, folks didn't really use it despite the 'No Cell Phone' writing on the left side of the lane and 'Cell Phones: Walk at Your Own Risk' inside the lanes.
The National Geographic show focuses on how people make changes to their behavior.
The experiment didn't really reach its full potential because a lot of people using their cell phones didn't notice the markings at all, according to Yahoo Tech. They said it's no surprise walkers didn't notice the lanes because they were too busy looking at their phones. Yahoo Tech said in fact, they only time people using cell phones used the lanes was when they were taking pictures of it.
