PS. Here is an improved/quicker method: The subtract layer could be just a fill layer with the channel color you want to keep (instead of a copy of the layer to be blended with a inverted color curve). The add layer would also not need a blend range adjustment and to make things even easier, instead of a curves, you can use the same fill (eg. duplicate linked) and apply this in multiply blend mode. Hope it makes sense :)
