I recommend starting your ECG education with theory.
1. I recommend using the video lectures "ECG for Everyone" as a foundation. They provide the most basic ECG knowledge with simple and clear illustrations. The course contains 10 video lectures.
I recommend starting with this resource and then moving on to more advanced and complex literature.
2. Electrocardiography by Murashko and Strutynsky.
A classic textbook, written in accessible language. It's a bit dry in places, with too much text and few examples.
A plus is the summary in each chapter, which summarizes the key information for memorization.
There's a pocket version of the textbook, convenient to carry.
Or "ABCs of ECG" by Zudbinov. A classic textbook, the information is more structured and easier to read than Murashko's. There are also few examples.
3. ECG Notes by Shirley A. Jones. The book is written in English. It's colorful, vibrant, and features many illustrations. It's concise and clear. It covers only the most basic abnormalities. At the end of the book are a few case studies for self-assessment.
4. The ECG Made Practical. This entire section is devoted to the normal ECG. It's not just a dry "ECG for AF" section, but an ECG in a patient with tachycardia, with clinical presentation, pathophysiology, and treatment options. Key information is presented in boxes. It's well-designed and has many examples.
5. 150 ECG Problems: A collection of ECG cases with answers for self-assessment. Available in both English and Russian.
6. Clinical Electrocardiography by Zimmerman. It may seem complex and confusing at first glance. It's worth working through it after studying all the topics, as the cases include various ECG abnormalities. An excellent collection!
7. ECG RoUNds.
Learning an ECG is a long process; at first, you won't get anything. It's unclear where to look or what to look for. But the more you practice, the better the results will be!
