Intersecting Views. Psalms 3-4 // Sermon
The first psalm described the righteous man and briefly mentioned that there are also wicked ones. The second psalm showed the righteous man becoming king, but the wicked want to prevent him. The third psalm is a live report from the scene. The righteous man from the first and second psalms kneels and prays, and we are there, hearing his prayer. Moreover, we hear this prayer from beginning to end and notice how it changes. This is the connection of this psalm with its context. Psalms 1-2 present an objective picture, like a "view from above," for example, from a drone, while Psalms 3-4 present a subjective view from the perspective of a participant in the events, like a "view from a chest or head-mounted camera."
