What Settings To Use For Portrait Photography

Portrait photography is complicated, and to take a great portrait, you need to make sure your camera is ready. There are a lot of things we're concerned with getting right for a portrait, including getting accurate focus, metering the subject properly, getting accurate colors, managing depth of field, and of course, getting a great exposure.

Managing depth of field and getting a great exposure are more about process than they are about a specific set of settings, and we'll deal with them in a bit.

For focus, color and metering, there are specific settings you can use to insure you nail the perfect portrait. So in this video, I’m going to go through all of these settings and share with you exactly what settings to use for portrait photography.
