Aggregation functions perform a calculation on a set of values and return a single value. For example, a measure that contains the values 1, 2, 3, 3, 4 aggregated as a sum returns a single value: 13.Data aggregation is the process of collecting data to present it in summary form. This information is then used to conduct statistical analysis and can also help company executives make more informed decisions about marketing strategies, price settings, and structuring operations, among other things.Connecting your data to Tableau Prep, you might need to aggregate some data. So what is aggregation? It is a mathematical function to lower the granularity (level of detail) in the data.First, measure the length and width of the area that you will be covering in feet. Next, multiply the length by the width to calculate the total area in square feet. Next, measure the depth of the aggregate that you will be using in inches. Multiply the depth by 0.08333 to convert it to feet.An aggregation is a collection, or the gathering of things together. Your baseball card collection might represent the aggregation of lots of different types of cards. Aggregation comes from the Latin ad, meaning to, and gregare, meaning herd. So the word was first used to literally mean to herd or to flock.Data aggregation is often used to provide statistical analysis for groups of people and to create useful summary data for business analysis. Aggregation is often done on a large scale, through software tools known as data aggregators.
What are aggregate data types?
Edit online. In addition to the base data types, aggregates of the base data types may be used as well. The first aggregate data type is similar to a structure in C in that it can contain multiple fields of different data types. This aggregate data type is referred to as structured data (SD).Calculating the volume of aggregate needed

Using the surface area and the desired void ratio, the volume of aggregate needed can be calculated. By multiplying the surface area by the void ratio, you can determine the total volume of aggregate required.
Aggregation occurs separately for each output variable, just prior to the last step, defuzzification. The output of the aggregation process is one fuzzy set for each output variable. Aggregation methods are of three types, (i) maximum (max), (ii) probabilistic, and (iii) sum method. How is aggregate calculated?
We can find an aggregate percentage by using the same method. Here we will be adding the obtained score for both semesters dividing the same by the total marks for both semesters and multiplying it by 100. Percentage % = (Total Obtained Marks ÷Total Marks) × 100.Aggregate and group values
Drag and drop fields between the two panes.
Search for fields in the list and select only the fields you want to include in your aggregation.
Double-click a field to add it to the left or right pane.
Change the function of the field to automatically add it to the appropriate pane.
