Dinosaur footprints are like a time capsule, remaining traces from the depths of time of these magnificent creatures that lived millions of years ago. So how can these scars last so long and resist the forces of erosion of time?

Dinosaur footprints were formed in soft muddy areas that were generally wet and slushy. In these regions, dinosaurs created sediments with their body weight and left their traces. These mud traces then dried with the heat of the sun and hardened over time.

However, many traces have disappeared over time. The passage of other creatures, the effect of rain or soil changes caused these traces to disappear. However, some traces were fortunately preserved by being covered with soil sediments.

Over time, layers of soil accumulated and compacted on top of these traces. This process protected the tracks from external factors such as rain, storms and erosion. These overlapping sedimentary layers formed a stone-like structure as they compacted.

Dinosaur footprints have survived to the present day, resisting the effects of nature for millions of years. These traces are a rare window that time offers us and help us understand the existence and lives of these fascinating creatures that lived in the past.
