Path of Exile Beginners Guide
This video is a quick explanation of what i believe is the best way to get started in Path of Exile. Following a guide gives you all sorts of benefits and allows you to follow a good path while learning the basics along the way.

While it does have a mandatory unique to achieve the end game you don't need this initially to make it into end game and early mapping.
Otherwise POE.net and the forums have great builds from highly skilled players worth following.

I would suggest starting to use this after act 5 however you can make that decision as you go or enable to early on to help de-clutter your screen and focus you on the items you want to grab.
