Welcome to TTG tidbits, a series where we cover quick tips and tricks to help improve your DIY digital marketing skills in two minutes or less. Today we'll be covering adding a user in Google Search Console.
Google Search Console is a website monitoring tool that helps users keep tabs on their site's performance and traffic, research keywords and track keyword performance in Google search rankings and troubleshoot issues affecting a website's Google ranking. Adding users to your Search Console account is necessary when you are onboarding new marketing employees or working with a marketing agency to optimize your site's performance in Google.
Luckily, adding users to search console is a snap. From the search console property dashboard, select the Settings icon in the lower left of the page and then on the Settings page, click Users and permissions. Next, click Add User. Enter the user's Google email address. It's important to note that the user must have a Google account with an associate Gmail to be added to Search Console. Choose the level of permissions or role you would like your new user to have. Owner role should only be granted to users who need to make significant changes to the Search Console property, or who will need the ability to add other users in the future. A user with an owner role has the ability to delete any other user including you so grant this level of access with caution. Hit the save button and you have officially added a new user to your Google Search Console account.
