In this video I will talk about Microsoft's Service Worker roadmap so you can make a plan for your progressive web applications in Microsoft's browser.
Last month, September 2017, the Edge team held the annual developer summit in Seattle. They announced their plan to ship support for service workers in the 2017 Fall Creator's update behind a flag.
Just before Christmas Microsoft shipped an updated version of Edge with Service Workers enabled by default. This is available Windows Insiders in build 17063.
This will give them time to let developers flesh out potential issues without possibly breaking the Internet. If all goes well, general availability will ship in the next major Windows update.
Your site can register a service worker. Once registered you can debug the script in the Edge developer tools. But there is a caveat as service workers execute in a separate process.
