Steps to take to get an upper hand on financial stress.

Whether it’s because of a sudden event in one’s personal or professional life, or related to the broader economy, we all experience some heightened stress at one time, or another related to our personal finances. But like stress of all kinds, this can be harmful, particularly if the causes aren’t resolved.
Step one: Examine the specifics of your finances. What’s the source of the problem? Lack of income, sudden expenses, the failure to budget to monitor money that’s coming and going?
Next, determine your financial priorities. What needs the most attention?
It could be tackling credit card debt, a need to boost income or savings.
Take a closer look at your expenses.
Are there recurring expenses that can be trimmed or reduced entirely? It might be a monthly subscription that is no longer used very often.
Work to reduce debt. This can produce stress on any number of fronts, whether caused by student loans, credit cards, auto or home loans.
