03 - Camtasia Studio v8.4 - Adjusting Audio and using Cut and Split
It is very easy to use Camtasia's Audio editor for adjusting the audio of your video recordings. You can quickly get rid of background noise and mouse clicks in no time flat. The Audio editor will also provide you with the option to level out the audio of the clip in order to get rid of those super high notes that often occur at the beginning of a sentence. In order to make all the proper adjustments to the audio recording you will need to make a change and then play the video back. While playing the video back listen to the audio and determine if the new setting is what you want the audio to sound like.
Often times when making screen recordings, despite all the planning ahead, mistakes are made. Those nasty little filler words like Um and Uh love to sneak their way into your audio and programs that you are recording suddenly decide to do their own thing. Camtasia Studio makes adjusting those mistakes super easy to do with the Cut and Split tools. The split tool will allow you to completely remove sections of video as though they were never part of the recording. A disadvantage of the split tool is that all the clips beyond the section of video that is removed will have to be dragged over so they butt up against the previous clips. The cut tool will quickly remove the section of video that is selected and also slide all of the clips beyond it automatically. Both the split and cut tool provide the same functionality so which of the two you decide on using is really a matter of personal preference.
