Part 3 of our XLR series shows how to make an unbalanced XLR cable to either a TS (tip-sleeve, 1/4 inch/mono jack) or an RCA plug. XLR to TS cables may be used to transfer balanced audio between two devices that don't both have XLR inputs/outputs. Or maybe you need a cable to carry a signal from a device with only XLR inputs/outputs to a device with only RCA inputs/outputs, but watch out as this is an unbalanced cable (XLR connections will usually have a slightly higher voltage signal than the RCA!)
