DL ISSUE CLARIFICATION IN
RRC connection and OPTIMIZATION cases While sending the RRC setup message we use the FACH channel. So we have a chance to improve downlink common channel coverage and cell coverage. For example, the PCPICH power of one cell is 300(1watt), if the MaxFachPower is 10, that means the FACH transmit power is 310(1.26Watt) if the MaxFachPower is 20, that means the FACH transmit power is 320(1.58Watt) So after a change from 10 (1.25W) to 20 (1.58W), the common channel will consume 0.32 Watt more power #MaxFachPower Impact on Network Performance: If MaxFachPower is set excessively low, a UE at the cell edge may fail to receive the services and signaling carried over the FACH, in a correct way. If MaxFachPower is set excessively high, other channels will interfere and more downlink power resources will be occupied. This will consequently impact the cell capacity.
