Dr Tom Crawford (St Edmund Hall) provides an insight into the Oxford Undergraduate Mathematics course through the lens of Differential Equations.

The uniqueness of solutions to second order linear ordinary differential equations (ODEs) is discussed through Picard's Theorem in the second year course "Differential Equations"; 'well-posed problems' are covered in the first year course "Fourier Series and PDEs"; the Navier-Stokes equations are first seen in the second year course "Fluids and Waves"; and 'chaos theory' is studied in the third year course "Nonlinear Systems".

Produced by Dr Tom Crawford at the University of Oxford. Tom is an Early-Career Teaching and Outreach Fellow at St Edmund Hall: https://www.seh.ox.ac.uk/people/tom-c...
