I neglected to mention the camera can be used in Shutter Priority or Tv (Time Value) mode. Place the aperture ring on A (Automatic) and select your shutter speed. If you have a functional battery in the camera, the camera will choose an appropriate aperture based on the lighting conditions and provide a correct exposure.
