Dr. Yücel recommends ETS surgery as an effective solution.
ETS surgery is a procedure performed on hundreds of thousands of patients worldwide and offers a permanent solution to facial blushing, which is particularly bothersome during social interactions. The procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia and takes about an hour. During the procedure, a small camera is inserted into the chest cavity and the procedure is completed without a large incision.
Dr. Dr. Yücel explains, "During surgery, small clips are placed on the sympathetic nerves. The application of these clips prevents overreactivity without causing any permanent effects on the nerves. If we detect that a patient is dissatisfied with their postoperative condition, we remove the clips, allowing the patient to return to their previous state."
This procedure generally allows patients to experience facial flushing immediately after surgery. However, like any surgical procedure, ETS carries some risks. Dr. Yücel adds, "Among these risks are very rare side effects such as reflex sweating and eyelid drooping. However, eyelid drooping, in particular, is both rare and usually temporary."
The successful completion of ETS surgery requires the presence of an experienced team, and the hospital stay usually does not exceed a few days. Dr. Yücel believes that this surgery can provide a permanent solution to facial flushing. Yücel is quite hopeful.
