Excel Quick Tips - How to use conditional formatting to make data look like a table in Excel
If you want to know how to use conditional formatting to make data look like a table with banded rows in Excel, give this a quick watch.
Great use case for this is to use in combination with FILTER function to add dynamic formatting to the mix.
After highlighting the columns you want the effect to take place and choosing the color you want the bands to be, you're going to drop this formula into the rule function bar:
=AND(MOD(ROW(),2)=1,$G1[isnotequalto]"")
Here, column G is where my formatting starts and the note in the brackets just says to use the greater than/less than symbols, which YT won't let me type here.
It's that simple!
